Last Saturday's
Reunion(19 Nov) will be an evening to remember for some time to come...
each one of you made a unique contribution to making the time extremely
enjoyable and entertaining - never before have 5 hours passed at such
lightening speed!
Reflecting on it now, part of the explanation is surely that we
were graced by the presence of our teachers - due thanks to Mr
Sihra - and that was of course the icing on the cake! Seeing how well
they complemented Pravin's amusing speech, it soon became apparent that
we still had a lot to learn from them... anyone figured out yet Mr
Mand's negative numbers paradox, or should we call it an axiom of
arithmetic?
We extend special thanks to Mr Aridaman, who characteristically set an
example by attending despite a previous family engagement, and having
suffered a tummy upset that very morning! His wisdom is beyond
compare... I propose that we nominate him Honorary President of the
Class of 65 Group UK!
Thanks are also due to the wives, who not only made the effort to
attend for the evening and brightened up the atmosphere with
their presence, but also very elegantly put up with all the usual noise
that we lot are so good at generating when slightly excited!
Well, the good news is that this event was the practice run. Mangal
tells me the real event will take place outdoors next year, when the
air temperature resembles more closely that of Kisumu (minus the
mosquitoes!) somewhere in Surrey. Messrs Vallabh Sonecha and Pravin
Taank to organise once again, as they are now the recognised experts in
the event hosting game.
Some of us met after around 40 years - that's a gap of two generations
- so there's still plenty to talk and exchange views about. Lessons
learnt, plenty of notice will be given, and I expect around 6 teachers
will be present. Can you ask for more?
